Reader's comments on a Jonathan Green piece 'Beyond the straitjacket of unions vs business' in today's Drum:
Simon: 06 Feb 2014 12:04:32pm 'Mark said "what does it take to become a conservative"?
'The answer is, intelligence, maturity, responsibility to your community, refusal to accept the regressive polices of the left, the goal of employees not being forced against their will to pay money to an antiquated political organisation...
'Shall I continue?'
A reply followed:
Hanibal fine: 06 Feb 2014 12:53:09pm 'Mark said "what does it take to become a conservative"?
'The answer is greed, arrogance, blind obedience to those that give you money, refusal to accept science, the ability to turn a blind eye to the less fortunate, being able to nod your head even when you don't agree, finding loopholes in the system so you dont have to pay your fair share of tax, total disregard for the environment, a fondness for european cars, greed and did I mention........greed.
'Shall I continue?'
Which prompted another reply:
oztraveller01: 06 Feb 2014 2:50:16pm 'You know what?
'At first glance that would seem like vitriol, but having worked in the corporate sector and dealt with the conservatives of the North Shore and eastern suburbs, sadly, I could identify many of my colleagues and acquaintances in your description.
'OK, so some of it is harsh, but man oh man, it's not far off.
':-('
Nothing further, out.
