Why are the Poms so scared of horsemeat? Where do they think retired racehorses end up? And what do their precious doggies and pussies eat? But they are happy to slaughter a few million little calves and dear little lambkins each year to satisfy their wanton carnivorous urges.
I say eat horse and show yourself a REAL carnivore! (Pass the possum legs deary with a few skippy snags on the side.)

I have the answer to our economic woes, environmental concerns and the offshoring of the Oz food industry. Just use unemployed layabouts to round up all the brumbies in the Snowy and the outback, send them to the knackers for processing and you have - Gee Gee Burgers! A sure hit for Mac'crap. "You may win thousands if your burger has the secret Phar lap symbol under it's lid. Or maybe even some Black Caviar?"
Kekovich can do the ads.
"Eat horse on Australia day! You know it's the right thing do! Don't be unponyotric!"

I think the British are a little squeamish when it comes to Horse, Dog, Kangaroo etc. But the real issue is that the box says 'Beef'

You are right robj. So it really should be a complaint about misleading advertising, not Green Moon in my snags.
And I believe you can find Findus-subsidiary products at Aldi and other places in Oz. Youngs Seafoods is also owned by them.
Interestingly, A cat, delivered in a frozen peas box, is named Findus in a children's books series by Sven Nordqvist.
Damned Swedes!

What do you think of Jeremy Fernandez' "Rosa Parks" moment? www.abc.net.au/news/2013-02-08/fernandez-why-i-didnt-give-up-my-seat/4508686Having a black wife we (well she) have been subject to overt racism in Australia on two occasions in the last two years. So he's right, it is alive and kicking. On the good side, incidents of genuine kindness and friendship have greatly outnumbered the negative ones. (PS. and 'black' is how she chooses to identify herself)

"What do you think of Jeremy Fernandez' "Rosa Parks" moment?"
It's just depressing. It's also depressing that the only reason it's noteworthy is that the recipient has a way to tell people about it.
I notice that he hasn't chosen to publish any of the video. That shows some real class.

If ever there was an invitation to the bolt curse to come and visit ... This sports scandal - sports’ ”blackest day” - is sure being beaten up by this government. A very handy conversation topic for Julia Gillard: “I would have a clear message. Fans are anxious to know what the circumstances are of their clubs,” she said.
“‘Please come clean, make sure that you tell your fans what is going on.”
She said those with problems should “step forward”. But for the rest of us we have no names, no clubs, no specific allegations. Just a broad brush smear - and distraction.
The backlash is forcing the Australian Crime Commission to swear this really is the monster scandal and we’d know it, too, if only clubs could say what they can’t Maybe the ACC knows something? I and wonder, though - could this test of the bolt curse be for a good outcome? This could be as effective an application as the time he suggested that there were elebenty-five inquiries too many being created after hints of abuse and discrimination in the military. And didn't THOSE turn out to be completely unnecessary?

MoC - I feel your pain. But resort to Bowie and the Stones and The Sapphires. Therein lies greatness.

I thought about scanning a frame from my (~1992 - I am so cool) copy of V (aka "batman loses it") ... but I can't find it (it's in the house somewhere!) But this'll do. It goes out to the south australian police department, who only ever did me wrong once ... and it was only in a very small way (a bike is not a car, you berks, and it was 3 frikkin' AM on a sidestreet, you clowns!)

A magic song, if a pretty rubbish video.
One of the albums that gets popped on through the headphones when its 9PM and I realise that I'm not going home for a bit. Actually it's been a while since I've done that - these days I put my car in a place that locks me out if I don't take it back by 7PM, so most nights I go sprinting out of the building at 6:45. But there was about a year of Very Late Nights, and the chills were company (along with The Sundays, Johnny Cash, Live (first two albums only), Effervescence, Primary, The Beatles, various Paul Kelly, sometimes Holly Cole, random Steve Earle and Single Gun Theory ...)
I just think this is such an awesome piece of music to put on a pop album. Only one other person would try to get away with it and that's David Bridie ... and of course he did (Dive)
