Another one - removed by me for being too harsh, and dishing spite against many for the annoyances of a few.

Must try harder, people!!1!!!!
It's just a game.
A while back there was a vote on the ABC site about something to do with the southbank sophist.
After the numbers got silly, I submitted a few hundred votes just to see what would happen. Somebody somewhere had a script to make sure that anything that bumped up the "X" vote would be offset by an equivalent number of "Y" votes. It was quite well done. They weren't being obviously ridiculous - they could have just sent in a zillion votes and that would have been that (and obvious). Instead, they were polling the site to see how the votes changed - and when I added 50 votes, they added 50 votes. I'd wait half an hour and submit another 50 votes - they instantly submitted another 50 votes. There's probably a web site somewhere that automates the process for money.
Online polls are pointless. Maybe if the polls use facebook logins or something that would be better, but we've also seen how nutters can mobilise droogs and molluscs to flood a poll (or amazon, for that matter - oh, those were the days).
I think that Time should have got the point by now that gillard is somebody they need to take a look at.

"No Reformation, no Pilgrims!"
No reformation, no industrial revolution. No Darwin. No separation of church and state.
No reformation, no Australia.
Ok, well, maybe that's a stretch. Maybe the Torquemada gang in spain would have funded an expedition down south. Tied it in with one of their expulsions.

" Online polls are pointless." Yeah sorry, not sufficiently conveying irony. I'm guessing Time's user-polling 'security' is cookie-based, because I saw some users commenting on bolt's thread that "it doesn't work!" - presumably their IE security settings are maxed out. I assume (though haven't bothered trying) that one may enter multiple votes using a google chrome 'incognito' window (or firefox 'private' window). If security isn't cookie-based then there are other methods to circumvent. But all the same it's terribly amusing seeing stuff like this... Haha. Can you imagine GetUp and the ABC staff going ballistic, voting like there's no tomorrow?

Update: The latest... Gillard "Absolutely" = 12,124 (48.19%) "No Way" = 13,035 (51.81%) Gillard is a shoe in!

The "Education Revolution" should have started closer to home...

Bolt WE’VE heard plenty about Jill Meagher because she was pretty and worked for the ABC before she was murdered by a serial rapist on parole.
But now there’s also a 29-year-old single mum bashed to death in her home in country Victoria, with her traumatised young child within earshot. Interesting. Serial rascist Blot was quick to condemn Trioli after her comments re the Boston bombing. He's done a some editing on his Trioli post as well. blogs.news.com.au/heraldsun/andrewbolt/index.php/heraldsun/comments/racist_to_worry_about_people_much_like_our_own_being_blown_up/Why is he not on his high horse about all other offences against women recently? In all parts of the world? Should we not hear about Jill? He does include an image of poor Jill as well. Stay classy Bolt.

For crying out loud.
But how many other Victorians have paid with their lives because cultured men and women of a libertarian bent believe there is no evil that can't be tamed by a good chat and a little jail?
Bullshit, andrew.

My God (bless her) ! Bolt continues his assault on the English language.
"Racist" = any anti racist measures of which he doesn't approve (like having indigenous footy teams)
"Sexist" = any criticism of sexism (eg. Gillard's anti-misogyny speech)
And now = "libertarian".
Doesn't he realise that his favourite hate-source - Catallaxy - advertises itself as "Australia's leading libertarian and centre-right blog."
Damn those rightist libertarians and their beliefs!
I believe in football terms this is referred to as an own goal.

Oh ff**ing hell , Gillard is now criticised for being seen in the Woman's Weekly knitting. As someone said, if she was seen walking on water the News headline would be "Gillard can't swim."
And what about the endless pics of Tones pathetically posed shots showing off his budgie, riding a bike and pretending to be a worker?
The undisguised hate just gets worse every day.
What drivel.

A trivia question for you.
In what film can you see Roger Moore playing a die-hard mercenary hero (ffolkes) crocheting a picture of a cat and admitting he wore women's clothes? (Crochet is his favourite hobby, along with drinking single malt).
Answer - North Sea Hijack. Bloody good and quirky film too.
Best quote (apologies in advance to MoC and his moggies) -
Lord Privy Seal Dennis Tipping: You really don't like women much, do you?
ffolkes: I do not. You see, I, together with my five elder sisters, was raised by a maiden aunt. Both my parents died tragically in childbirth. Until the age of ten, I was forced to wear my sister's hand-me-downs. Then when I married, I discovered to my horror that my wife also had five sisters, all unmarried, and all expecting my support. I find cats a far superior breed. Just on the off chance, I have made a will. I've left everything to my cats. I want it testified that I am sound of body and mind. Well go on!

Oh, well, if RICHO says it, that's almost as bankable as terry mccrann
