Woah ... now THAT'S a howler ... Blair cites an article at the guardian, not spotting the problem that made me laugh out loud ... Stephen Hawking’s decision to boycott an Israeli conference in protest at the state’s 46-year occupation of Palestine was derided as hypocritical by some, who pointed out that the celebrated scientist and author uses Israeli technology in the computer equipment that allows him to function …
According to Shurat HaDin, an Israel law centre which represents victims of terrorism, the equipment has been provided by an Israeli hi-tech firm, Intel, since 1997. Er, Intel's an Israeli firm? No. No it isn't. It has research centers in israel, absolutely. But it has those in a heck of a lot of countries. But actually it's an american company. You know, like Apple, and Microsoft, and HP and IBM and Ford and GM and Harley Davidson and .... so on. It's possible that Blair has heard of at least one or two of those. It's possible that the CPU in that baby is using an Israeli design - I'm not sure where the latest iterations have come from, and I think the core II was designed in Haifa. But if that worried him he could switch to something based on an ARM - a BRITISH design - and probably extend his battery life along the way. I'm disappointed that the guardian fell for that. They've posted a correction. I wonder if Blair will.

And Blot enthusiastically links to Blair's article (headline Say it in Arabic...), even after some of his own commentators pointed out the history of Intel, and pan him for posting 'woof woof' .
But it still brought some choice comments from the zombies -
"Hawking is a fool. Always has been and always will be. He fooled everything with his stupid theories of how the Universe came about. I’m not surprised at his childish attitude towards Israel. PeterX of Sydney (Reply) Thu 09 May 13 (11:46pm)"
"So what? Israel can’t seem to shut up about the holocaust but still accepts German built nuclear-capable subs. Rob of Melbourne (Reply) Fri 10 May 13 (01:25am) "

The right-whingers are having a grand time with the Canberra whale-balloon, which appears to be somewhat over- endowed in the Bulgarian fun-bags department. (look it up).
Timmeh is ecstatic, and has had four posts in two days with his puerile whoops of glee. And he managed to say 'tits'!
MoC - I think you are being maligned. (But what were they thinking?)

The key to unlock the mystery.
It is Vogon art.
"I thought that some of the metaphysical imagery was really particularly effective. Oh ... and er ... interesting symbolic devices too. Which seemed to counterpoint the ... er ... er ...counterpoint the surrealism of the underlying metaphor of the ... er ... humanity of the ..."
"Vogonity," Ford hissed at him.
"Ah yes, Vogonity (sorry) of the artist's compassionate soul, which contrives through the medium of the balloon structure to sublimate this, transcend that, and come to terms with the fundamental dichotomies of the other, and one is left with a profound and vivid insight into ... into ... er ...Into whatever it was the balloon was about!"

"MoC - I think you are being maligned"Nothing new there. I actually think it's mostly cute ... I just think that some of it is a but ... benny hill. Whatever. A storm in a teacup, and not something that anyone was consulted over. And whatever blair says about canberra ... it's better than living in sydney. Now, to the fun stuff: www.facebook.com/CanberraMemes
