I'm enjoying the ABC series Dumb Drunk and Racist with Joe Hildebrand. It's confronting, poignant, funny, and an interesting commentary on how different cultures see each other.
I think around 100 years ago Rudyard Kipling (?) wrote a short story about an Indian's first experience of London, and there was also Mark Twains' "Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" so it's hardly original.
But you can see where it's going to end up. The Indians will agreed that Australia is complex and different, but no so bad after all and we're all guilty of making generalisations about other communities.
What do others think?
