...which you could be forgiven for thinking, if you were the sort of twerp that relied on News Ltd headlines alone to convey your news: Gay parents deny children birthright. But of course, gay parents do no such thing: it's a claim made by some group called the "Family Council of Children", for whom I can find little information on the web other than that being splashed all over News Ltd., including The Australian. It's too simple to ask whether the Family Council for Children will seek to uphold a child's "rights" to a traditional nuclear family when one of the parents leaves the marriage. And what happens when a husband dies before the child is born? Forced marriage for the mother? Fucking idiots. One can see only too clearly the News Ltd. psyche at work here: "Let's stir up the senile readers with a bit of a gay scare!" No wonder the bastards are going broke; the world is changing faster than they can adapt to it. How very Permian.

"Family Council for..." seems to be one of those umbrella terms used by fundie Christians for promoting their ideas.
Eg. The Family Council of Victoria says -
"Unacceptable Urge
"homosexuality is an urge that is ‘unacceptable’ to God and should be ‘restrained’ with will power."
And -
"Children with straight parents are wealthier, healthier and happier than those with gay parents, "
Just the sort of lobby groups News Ltd likes quoting as authoritative.
