Sorry MoC - just two things wrong with your post yesterday. Describing Mr B as...
'professional'
and
'a journalist'
He's neither.

I was wondering when this would happen: Coalition Tony Abbott's climate plan is as bad as Labors
TONY Abbott is finally making the killer point about the carbon dioxide tax. Trouble is, it's the same point that makes his global warming policy seem crazy, too.
I'm surprised Bolt has made this criticism at this particular point in time. I would have expected him to wait until the day after a Coalition election victory, given that campaigning on a "Let's not do anything at all about climate change" platform would only hurt the Coalition. Sure, the carbon price introduced by the ALP isn't popular at the moment, but does Bolt really believe Australians would respond well to an overt head-in-the-sand stance on climate change? That's what the "Direct Action" policy is for. The message is -- "Hey, we're going to cut emissions by 5% too! But it won't cost you a dime!" Of course, it's not entirely unreasonable to suspect that if the Coalition win the next election the "Direct Action" policy may suddenly evaporate. We could be told that "now isn't the right time, because we've not got enough money after spending billions to wind back TEH EVIL CARBON TAX".
