If you can stomach it, have a glance at O'Neill's latest piece on ABC's The Drum.
He claims to be a 'Marxist' (whatever meaning that has in this day and age) then proceeds with old fashioned faction-bashing claiming the Greens are revisionists who have betrayed fundamental principles by claiming that Nature not Mankind determines the fate of the proletariat and that true Leftists should believe in the ascendency of Man and his dominion over all of Nature.
It's quite an amusing little piece of nonsense and the comments give it what it's due.
But one point Brendan - 'Greenies' believe that nature is being damaged by the unbridled economic activity of humans - just as a true Marxist should believe that society is being damaged by the unbridled activity of capitalists . So it's all down to mankind anyway, so what is your point exactly? Except to parade your ignorance and ego for all to see?
I think O'Neill is as much of a Marxist as Marie Antoinette was a milkmaid.
