Craig Thomson's home and office were raided by the police today. Someone tipped off the media.
I wonder who?
Abbott and Pyne are sailing close to breaching sub-judice conventions.
Thomson claims innocence, the nut-jobs are having an orgy.
Sit back and enjoy!

I very much doubt if it was federal, angra - too many people would have to be in the loop. Nah - somebody at state level has a preference for the liberal party, and is willing to use a legal process for political ends. Can't imagine how that could come about.
Thompson either has an excellent poker-face, or at least one NEWS blog site is going to be looking at the prospect of a letter from his lawyers - the stuff over there today is downright defamatory.
Can anyone imagine how the shriekers would be shrieking if this were an AFP investigation, the target were a liberal party MP and the cameras were waiting for them to arrive?

While George Brandis and the Opposition accusatorily queries Gillard's "curious" timing of the election, there are counter conspiracy theories... So, as Abbott spoke to the assembled press in Canberra, live in camera, seven police arrived to arrest Thomson (two remained in the car) as if he was a dangerous armed fugitive. They then took him past hordes of journalists and cameras back to Wyong Police Station where they strip searched him − that’s right, strip searched (you heard that first on Independent Australia) − as if he was a common drug dealer.
Beyond inflicting utter humiliation, why would they need to execute an intrusive strip search on Craig Thomson MP? A more cynical soul might suggest it was so they could advise this unspecified brothel witness about any private identifying features of birthmarks Thomson might have.
www.independentaustralia.net/2013/politics/jacksonville-38-the-odd-and-illegal-arrest-of-craig-thomson/ Just. Wow. P.S. It's Thomson - sans P - not Thompson. Is there any way to change the title of this thread?

Senator Brandis told Lateline that Opposition Leader Tony Abbott did not go too far in saying that Ms Gillard had run a "protection racket" for Mr Thomson.
I'm not sure senator brandis knows what "protection racket" means :-)
I've decided to treat this business with amusement, or the hypocrisy is going to make me grouchy.
Yeah, the presence of the media is interesting. Somebody sure knew that arrest was coming, and it is conceivable that it wasn't the PM.
