Good list though it's missing Keith Moon and Rat Scabies (I'm sure Grohl is a fan of Scabies and everyone loves Moon)

You are robj.
I'd also add Billy Cobham and Badal Roy. Their interplay on McLaughlin's "My Goal's Beyond" is magic. Roy is a tabla player whose beats can be measured in milliseconds. And Cobham is famous for his Miles Davis sessions.

Best drummer? The impossible dream, there's too many and too many styles. On my list (just off the top of my head and in no particular order): Jo Jones, Tony Williams, Joe Morello, Ed Thigpen, Steve Gadd, Hal Blaine, Connie Kay (if only for those cymbals!), Liberty DeVito (with Billy Joel), Russ Kunkel, Harvey Mason etc etc etc.

There's great percussion on this track by Keith Tippett. Whatever happened to him? You've got three drummers - Bryan Spring, Phil Howard, Robert Wyatt - plus Elton Dean on Sax and Gary Boyle playing a mean guitar. And Tippett on keyboards plus some great trombone. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZc6wBrpPEY

And don't forget Narada Michael Walden, who like McLaughlin was a student of Sri Chinmoy Here's him drumming for the divine Aretha. My favourite music vid. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ip_pjb5_fgA

I admit it. It's time I came out and declared the truth to myself.
I like James Blundell's music.
I realise this will be met by shock and horror. But the two types of music (C AND W) deserve respect.
And my dog's died, my ute is broken, the wife's left me and the neighbour is throwing pineapple tops into my backyard.
Now I can revel in an orgiastic rite of C&W loveliness.
Next up - Patsy Cline.

"I like James Blundell's music"
I'm not entire sure who that is ...
Do I have to stop being a citizen now, or anything?

When feeling melancholy, I listen to this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=sseyUtOvetAOne of Ewan's last recordings (and has a complicated medieval time signature which seems to be based on the Carol Es ist ein Ros Entsprungen).

My God! I just stumbled across Junior Eurovision.
Conroy should ban it!. But I rather liked Sweetie Baby from the Armenians.

It's unbelievable! There's "Funky Lemonade" from Georgia, And now we've got Moldava "Give it to someone, your pure pure love."
It's serious bad crap.
